8-year-old house with recessed lights using regular bulbs now. Can I install halegon bulbs of same wattage?
Just wondering if I can use halegons if I do not exceed the recommended voltage.
The issue here to start with is whether you have a dimmer on the circuit. If you do, the bulbs you got are the bulbs you can use. If it is a switch, you can install the curly bulb flourescent types… each one uses the equivalent of 11 watts per and gives off light like 60… the halogens you desire are usually 24 volt and would take a re and re of the old fixture and replacing it with a new 24 volt halo light fixture set. The 24 volt halos last a month or 2… are really poop when it comes to life for sure… they look nice but the bulbs are expensive to replace…. go with the curlys in what you got would be my suggestion…
