How do you get a Blackberry Pearl to recognise incoming callers in your address book?
I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100 which I hate for a variety of reasons (plastic finish, build quality, horrid user interface, ugly text, unecessarily complex menus etc). Worst of all, when someone in my phone book calls me from a number which I have in my phone book, it doesn’t display their name (just the number) if the network has put a country code before it (eg.+44)
As a result I rarely know who’s calling from my work colleagues as they travel a lot and when they phone me, all I see is a mobile number not the person’s name.
I’ve already tried inputting the n umber into the phone book twice (with and without the country prefix) but this adds an extra step into calling/texting them as then the phone irritatingly asks you which number you want to use every time!
Does anyone know how to fix this irritating feature on this model??
I had exactly the same problem, it would recognise the caller when they called, but would put +44 in front when they texted and sometimes the other way around so wouldn’t display, unfortunately i never did get to the bottom of it and even asked on here with no sensible answers, i have just upgraded to a Pearl 8110 and it is fixed this problem completely, so it must be a setting somewhere, but that is the only annoying thing i had with the phone
