A few pieces of asbestos popcorn ceiling fell on my shelf where my clothes are, should I be concerned?
the apt ceiling material where I live is confirmed to be made with asbestos. It is the “popcorn” ceiling made in the ’70s. I noticed a few small pieces the size of shredded cheese appeared on the upper shelf in the closet. I pulled a t shirt sitting on one today and I saw a piece swirl in the air and settle once again. I have other t shirts right beside them.
Should I be concerned hazardous fibers were released in the air?
How badly have my other shirts been contaminated, if so?

If you have confirmed the presence of asbestos with a certified lab report, then you have a problem and need your landlord involved. The clothes will wash, but delaminating ceiling will put the hazard in the air. With the lab report, you can probably get out of your lease unless you were informed before you signed the lease. At minimum, the landlord needs to repair the ceiling and have the situation professionally evaluated. That certified lab report is critical.
