Switching single pole light switch with dimmer switch?
If you want to replace a single pole light switch with a dimmer switch do you need anything other than the dimmer switch and the three way light bulb? Will a cheap $10 dimmer switch do fine?
Yes, a cheap dimmer switch should work just fine, although $10 switch isn’t a cheap one, sounds like a fair price. You don’t need a 3 way light bulb, a regular bulb that doesn’t exceed the wattage rating for your fixture is what you need. Make sure you buy a single pole dimmer switch and not a 3 way dimmer switch! That will be a problem.
