Do you have a hard decision on which fireplace screen to get for your fireplace? The safety factor of fireplace screen is to protect your home from sparks flying from the popping fire. Fireplace screens do not have to look old or ordinary. Now your fireplace can express flare with its shape, style, and/or function. Either one of these fireplace screens will make a wonderful gift.
Single Panel Screens should overlap your fireplace opening at least 1-2 inches on all sides for proper protection from sparks. Choosing single panel screens will make it easier for moving it when tending the fire. A flat single panel screen fits up against your fireplace and gives it a face-lift. They sit on adjustable feet. If you want to add style, try single panel screens with an arched top or ones that has a gentle bow in them. There are many screens that have a decorative design on the front panel. If you want a functional use, try single panel screens with doors. They make it easy to tend to the fire without moving the screen.
Panel Folding Screens should be at least 10-12 inches wider than your fireplace opening to gives the folds in the screen balance so it does not tip over. The panel folding screens come in different styles and materials. Most popular style is made of Wrought Iron. Panel folding fireplace screens are hinged between each panel to make it easier to fit the width of your fireplace without the use of adjustable feet. Three panel folding screens are the most popular. Typically, the middle panel is twice as wide as each side panels. Four panel folding screens stand easily and can be used to move only two panels to tend to the fire. The five panel folding screens are unique. They can bring a lovely balance to your fireplace.
Here are some tips for choosing the right panel folding screens for your room. Look around your room, if your lamps, picture frames, or other metal accent pieces are shiny, the contemporary look is right for you. Choose fireplace screens with accessories made with steel, chrome, or pewter. They will emphasize more of a modern look. If you have aiming for a more formal or traditional look, choose fireplace screens with accessories made with brass, copper, or wrought iron. Also, brushed silver or nickel will make an excellent choice. They will give the room flare. If your room does not have any reflective surfaces, try selecting a silver-toned fireplace screens with accessories to lighten up your room.
Fireplace Spark Screens: The safety feature of spark screens are to protect your room from sparks popping out from the fire and from shooting sparks flying across the room. They are adjustable to fit your opening to your fireplace by placing the mesh iron curtain over an adjustable iron curtain rod.
