Remote Control Trucks… help…..?
My 4 year old son LOVES Monster Trucks, like most do… and I am interested in getting him a GOOD remote control one for Christmas.. I have tried the ones in Wal Mart and Radio Shack.. they are super SLOW and can’t make it over a hill, and a charge only works for 20 minutes…… I want to get him a Good One.. I don’t want it to be tooo Fast, unless there is something like a limiter on it so I can make it slow….. But I do want it to have some Power to make it over dirt hills and sand, I live in Hawaii and we have tons of Sand and Dirt to play with…. I would prefer something I don’t have to stick to a charger for 5 days just so he have have 20 minutes worth of play…. I can afford around $200 or so…
We love our 1/14 Tamiya QD Trail Masters. “QD” means quick drive – fully assembled, not a model. From www.tamiya.com, it looks like the Trail Master has been discontinued, but the Land Zephyr is still available, for $148. My boys take theirs across grass and up the skateboard ramp. We have not tried it on sand. I researched a lot before deciding on this one 2 years ago. It’s about 15″ long x 10″ wide x 10″ high.
Make sure you have all the required batteries – ours both came with batteries, but some of the descriptions say batteries not included.
