complimentary colors for interior of home?
I am painting my living room in a medium gray and a light blue, the foyer will be a “french” taupe BUT I can not decide on colors for the kitchen and dining room! I like sage green, pumpkin orange/burnt orange and just plain beiges. What would look good and work with what the colors I am painting the rest of the house? Thanks!
The sage green would probably be a safe bet if you wanted to do a color. Of course the beige is the best for resale. But I also love those orange colors. I think they are so vibrant and fun. The trick will be in finding the shades that work. I don’t think any of these colors would NOT work if done with the right shade.
My advice is to buy a couple different colors and paint some 1′ X 1′ or so squares in the kitchen in places that you can see from around the house. So much depends on lighting, cabinets, etc. that it is hard to figure out without actually putting it on the wall and living with it for a week or so. It may cost a little more and involve a little more effort, but it will be worth it to you to have a color you really like up there.
